[For students] Recruiting participants for the Volunteer Counselor Training Course (8th term) - Japan Charity Jobs

Since its establishment in 1978, the International Befrienders Osaka Suicide Prevention Center has been working to provide emotional support for 47 years.

We place importance on focusing on the emotional aspects of people with problems. We are neither experts nor advisors. Our hope is to be there as a friend, to accept their true feelings, to make them feel better and to be a source of support in their lives. We receive about 500 calls per month out of 10,000 calls per month. Despite the fact that there are so many people who are courageously trying to connect with "someone", the reality is that most people's thoughts are not being heard.

In order to connect with as many people as possible over the phone, the presence of counselors who engage in emotional support activities is essential to our activities.

We would like to increase the number of people who work with us and expand the places where thoughts can be received.

Activities

・Telephone counseling for people who are suffering enough to consider suicide (Friday 1pm to Sunday 10pm)

・Chat counseling service "Bifrendars Chat" (Wednesday 8pm to midnight)

・Sharing meetings for people who have lost loved ones to suicide, etc.

[7th Youth Volunteer Training Course]

●Course Schedule

May 1st - July 3rd, 2025, 10 sessions in total

Every Thursday from 6:30pm to 9:00pm

*Schedule is subject to change.

After completing the 10-session training course, if you wish to become a counselor, you will begin your practical training.

You may also participate in the course only as your own learning.

●Aptitude test

Thursday, April 24th, 2025, 7pm - approx. 1 hour

*Please note that we cannot answer questions about the results of the aptitude test.

*Please contact us if you are unable to take the test on the day. We will arrange an alternative date.

Cost

Aptitude test fee: 3,000 yen

Course fee: 15,000 yen

*In either case, the course fee will not be refunded. Please be sure to pay the course fee on the starting day.

Recruitment target / number of people

In principle, applicants must be students aged 20 or older (those who will turn 20 in 2025).

Conditions for participation

Transportation expenses etc. will be borne by the participant.
